Julesburg High School was retrofitted with a ground source heat pump system and state of the art Bacnet DDC system by MSI. The system uses ground water to provide both heating and cooling for the school. In winter, heat pumps use heat from the water to warm the air supplied to the building and in summer the heat pumps reverse their cycle and remove heat from the air in the building and exchange it to the ground water. The system costs are paid for from the energy savings.
